Lost Creek State Park

My husband and I paused at Lost Creek State Park when looking for a rest stop before Newport. This Day Use Area was a great place to stretch our legs and enjoy the fresh ocean air before continuing our travels. The wide swath of sand is near the midpoint of Ona Beach, which stretches north from Seal Rock to the Yaquina Bay South Jetty in Newport.

Located along the path to the beach are five picnic tables. The step count is to the third and fourth tables. Like so many Oregon beach viewpoints, the wooden fence on the edge of the low bluff is covered by chain link, so the seated view is obstructed. But you can stand at the fence line to enjoy the sights. The path continues to the beach, but easy access to the sand was blocked by beach debris.
